Bihar BJP Leaders Hail Party's Victory in Assembly Polls

Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and other senior BJP leaders today hailed their party's victory in assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and an improved performance in Delhi while party workers burst firecrackers and distributed sweets among themselves.

"The electorate of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattigarh have rightly rewarded the BJP governments for their good work and rightly rejected the Congress," Modi said in his reaction after the results of assembly polls in four states.

The results were also indicative of the things to come in the general elections, he said and lavished praise on the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for playing a "big" role in the BJP's impressive electoral victory in the four states.

In a warning to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who had split from the BJP to protest Modi's elevation early this year, he said that those hobnobbing with the Congress too will be wiped out in the elections, going by the public antipathy towards the UPA.

Modi took a dig at the Bihar Chief Minister for the JD(U)'s poor performance in the Delhi assembly polls, saying that the ruling party in Bihar came a cropper despite the former addressing six meetings during electioneering and putting his prestige at stake in the polls.

On the victory of the lone JD(U) candidate Shoaib Iqbal, the BJP leader said that the credit for the former's win goes to himself and not to the party or the Chief Minister as he had won earlier too.

Another BJP leader CP Thakur hailed the party's impressive performance in the assembly polls for four states and said that the credit goes to Modi as well as the Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattigarh and Rajasthan Chief Ministerial aspirant Vasundhara Raje, besides the people of these states.

The state unit BJP president Mangal Pandey too expressed delight at the results going in favour of his party in three states and a near miss in another and said that he has no doubt that his party will win all 40 parliamentary seats in Bihar in the next general elections.

Meanwhile, BJP workers burst into an impromtu celebrations soon after the results of the polls were out and burst fire crackers, besides distributing sweets to each others.
