Former Lok Sabha Speaker and senior Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi today met party president Uddhav Thackeray, a day after appearing to have indirectly criticised the latter's leadership style.
At a public function in Dadar here last night, Joshi had said he missed Sena founder Bal Thackeray's aggressive style.
"Why can't Sena build a Thackeray memorial at Shivaji Park? Just imagine if this was the case with Prabodhankar Thackeray, Bal Thackeray's father... Would he have kept quiet?
"The Chief Minister is showing Uddhav the rules and permissions that need to be taken," Joshi had said.
Bal Thackeray was cremated at Shivaji Park in Dadar after his demise last November, and Sena wants his memorial to be located there.
It was not known as to what transpired at the meeting between Joshi and Uddhav, held at the Thackeray family home, 'Matoshree', in suburban Bandra.
Sena is holding its annual Dussehra rally here tomorrow, the first one since Bal Thackeray's death.
Sena leaders Ramdas Kadam and Eknath Shinde today criticised Joshi over his apparent questioning of Uddhav's leadership.
"Joshi is greedy for a post," Kadam said. "The party gave a lot to Joshi, yet he has shown a lack of faith in it," said Shinde.
Meanwhile, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, whom Joshi recently met, said at Roha in Konkan that he did not think the latter would leave Sena.
