Curfew Imposed in Srinagar After Youth's Death
A curfew was today imposed in Srinagar district following the death of a youth in CRPF firing in Zoonimar area of the city.

"Curfew will be imposed in Srinagar district after midnight," District Magistrate Srinagar Baseer Ahmad Khan had told PTI last evening.

A 22-year-old youth was killed yesterday when CRPF personnel allegedly opened fire after coming under attack by a group of stone pelters in the Zoonimar area.

The vehicle of CRPF personnel was on its way to SKIMS hospital, where the victims of Bemina terror attack were admitted, when it came under attack, sources said.

The sources said the CRPF personnel were heading for SKIMS hospital to donate blood for their colleagues injured in the terror attack.

Two militants and five CRPF jawans were killed and 11 others – seven CRPF personnel and four civilians – were injured in the suicide attack on their camp at around 10.45 AM yesterday.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that eight policemen were injured in clashes with stone-pelting mobs at different places in the Valley, where the situation was by and large peaceful today.

"Situation remained largely peaceful throughout Kashmir Valley, though there were isolated incidents of stone pelting at few places," a police spokesman said here this evening.

He said miscreants pelted stones at Kurhama and Badergund in Ganderbal and Safakadal in downtown Srinagar on policemen.

"Police and security forces exercised maximum restraint while dealing with the law and order situation at these places," the spokesman said adding eight police personnel were injured during these incidents.

Outlook India : Curfew Imposed in Srinagar After Youth's Death
Srinagar | Mar 14, 2013

Most uninspiring, depressing, directionless and lacklustre speech ever delivered by any union Home Minister in the Parliament on March 14,2013, in the aftermath of terror attack in Kashmir.
India has the sovereign right to defend its border by carrying out hot pursuits into POK and demolish terroristsâ?™ infrastructure. It is meaningless to have negotiations with the powerless civilian govt that follows the orders of its army and the ISI? The latest fidayeen attack in Kashmir killing five CRPF jawans in the aftermath of .Let GOI give green signal to the Army to teach a lesson to Pakistan in the military language it would understand. Enough is enough.
The tragedy resulting in the killing of five CRPF jawans occurred as the CM of J&K ordered the CRPF and ITBP not to carry arms with them while patrolling the area. They merely carried lathies to fight fidayeens' AK 47.Strangely, the NC government in J&K has the support of the Congress. Why has the union Home Minister kept silent on this sensitive issue ? Also, how and why did the CRPF and ITBP comply with the 'illegal' orders of the Chief Minister ? Why did they not report the matter to the MHA in Delhi ? Is there any nexus with the terror groups ?
