Vadra Land Deals Issue Rocks Parliament
Parliament failed to transact any business today as the issue of land deals allegedly involving Congress President Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra and the plight of Sri Lankan Tamils eclipsed the proceedings in both Houses.

Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha witnessed two adjournments till 1400 hours and finally for the day as BJP members stormed the Well seeking a probe into the land deal issue.

The plight of ethnic Tamils in Sri Lanka and the Italian marines, held for killing of Indian fishermen, not returning, and other issues were also raised but the issue that rocked the two Houses was one relating to Vadra.

Gandhi was present in the Lok Sabha when the BJP members trooped into the Well carrying a placard which said 'Finance Minister, adopt the formula of son-in-law; earn sitting at home and reduce losses'.

The BJP had earlier given notices in both Houses for suspension of Question Hour to discuss the alleged anomalies in land deal by Vadra in Rajasthan.

The notices came in the backdrop of reports alleging that Vadra had broken the law in buying land in Rajasthan, much above the prescribed ceiling, and that he was set to reap a windfall from the land in arid Bikaner area.

AIADMK and Congress ally DMK triggered uproar over the plight of ethnic Tamils in Sri Lanka, carrying placards and pictures of slain LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran's 12-year-old son.

CPI(M) members raised the issue of Italy refusing to return the two marines accused of killing fishermen of Kerala in the high seas.

Both Houses were adjourned till noon shortly after assembling for the day and later adjourned again till 1400 hours amid uproar.

Soon after papers were laid in the Lok Sabha during Zero Hour, Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal was asked by Speaker Meira Kumar to reply to the two-day debate on the rail budget.

But as the din continued unabated, Kumar adjourned the House.

When the Lok Sabha met at 1400 hrs, Bansal rose to reply to the discussion on Railway Budget.

But BJP members rushed into the Well shouting slogans.

The Speaker tried to convince the agitated members to allow Bansal make his reply.

As they did not relent, Kumar adjourned the House till tomorrow.

Rajya Sabha also witnesses similar scenes at 1400 hrs when it reassembled after the second adjournment.

Opposition members trooped into the Well shouting slogans and holding placards.

The Upper House was to take up discussion on the Rail Budget.

Despite appeals from the Chair, members did not relent and the House was finally adjourned for the day.

Outlook India : Vadra Land Deals Issue Rocks Parliament
New Delhi | Mar 12, 2013

Robert Vadra is bound to eclipse Rahul Gandhi in the times to come. His business acumen, though based on unethical transactions,is sharp, fitting the attributes of a Congressman. No wonder,he could manipulate his grand entry into the party sooner than later with a bang.He holds high stakes in the DLF. He succeeded in getting huge mobilisation advance to the company through the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram in connection with the CWG.The private firm employs retired bureaucrats , with dubious credentials, to act as conduits with the GOI.It is baffling how serious allegations against Vadra are being pushed under the carpet by the PMO?
Robert Vadra is a politically exposed person and son-in-law of the first 'FAMILY' located at 10 Janpath. Why investigations have not been ordered by the GOI on his dubious transactions? The Supreme court is urged to take suo motu cognizance of the allegations and order comprehensive investigations by a Supreme court monitored STF in the national interest.

OutLook as usual is not giving the simple facts in this matter and complicating the issue.

In Rajasthan no one can have more than 75 acres of Land holding in one's name .Wadhra had some 600 acres of land holdings in Rajasthan purchased at dirt cheap rates.
To his luck within a few months of Wadra purchased land Govt decided to set up many Industries in that area .Being an intelligent person he disposed off the holdings making profits.

Now making profit is not a crime in India .It was Wadra's luck that Industries came up where he had purchased lands .So what is wrong in that if luck favours some one ??.

#2 - Good point - The heraldGate of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandez and sonia loyalists Sam Pitroda and Sumen Dubey are a bigger scam which is clearly illegal and involves using party funds to run a private business enterprise.

Especially when you hear NDTV, TOI etc proclaim that Rahul Baba is "taint free" it makes one wonder why a huge corruption like HeraldGate is not highlighted by BJP.

Instead of highlighting "the National Herald' land scam (the biggest by a single family, as big pieces of land have been allotted, at throw away prices, even free, at each kangres ruled state's capital or big city during last 10 years)  these morons are after Wadra. Is it a match fixing by various political party leaders?
