Thane Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik has asked officials to look into the
complaint of a national wrestling and judo woman player, who was allegedly
denied a job in the district police force.
Devki Devsingh Rajput (22) met Naik during his Janata Darbar here yesterday and
informed him that despite being selected as a candidate under the sports
category for a job with the Thane police commissionerate in 2011, she was not
appointed.
Rajput said she was informed that as she did not have the requisite non-creamy
layer certificate, her name was transferred from the sports quota to the general
category.
However, when she was not called even after inclusion in the general category,
she came to know that the cut-off for the general category was 162 marks and she
had secured 147 marks in the examination for police recruitment.
The minister ordered the concerned officials to look into the complaint and also
assured the woman that he would take up the matter with Thane Police
Commissioner Kris Pal Raghuvanshi.
