Wharton Invitation Has Nothing to Do With Modi: Kejriwal
Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal today said his invitation to Wharton India Economic Conference and cancellation of invitation to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi were not linked.

"I confirmed about 10 days back with Wharton that I would speak there. I am not a substitute. This is mere media speculation. My invitation to speak at Wharton lecture has nothing to do with Mr Modi's controversy," he said.

Kejriwal's comments came against the backdrop of reports that he will be replacing Modi as the keynote speaker of the event.

The conference got into news in India after Wharton decided to cancel Modi's keynote address in the wake of opposition to the Gujarat CM - who has drawn flak for his alleged role in allowing 2002 post-Godhra riots - from some of its students and university professors.

Modi was to deliver his address on March 22-23 via video-conference.

Three Indian-American professors from the University of Pennsylvania had sent a petition to Wharton signed by about 135 people "furious" against the invitation to Modi.

Kejriwal should not accept this invitation because the US Secretary for Defence Hagel has accused India of "financing troubles" for Pakistan, unless the AAP agrees with him.The aam aadmi knows well the American role before and after the 1965 and 1971 Pakistani wars on India and the terror war for more than 30 years now.

If the allegation by Kejriwal is true, then the media should be taken to task for charater assasination ( but then does that happen, ever )

Btw, IMHO, given a chance to select a speaker to Wharton, the Congress would have nominated a dalit, brown, female from the Northeast ( preferably one who wears a dhoti, sunglasses, turban, and eats pizza for breakfast, since that combination covers everything, and is electorally unbeatable ).

It is quite concievable now, that the internet Hindus will have many sleepless nights, given this double whammy - their God, Modi, being denied a chance to show-off his english in front of some really educated youngsters, and worse, that chance being given to a (secular) 'sucko'.
