A 16-year-old girl was allegedly teased, threatened and beaten up by three youths when she opposed their advances, police said .

The incident occurred last evening in Kashiram Colony, they said.

Police has registered a case against Vipin Kumar Akchey and Sagar, who are absconding.

Girl student forced to drink alcohol and raped by IRB man

Arunachal Pradesh

A girl student of Class VI was allegedly raped by a constable of the Indian Reserve Battalion after he forced her to drink alcohol at Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, official sources said.

The student of a government higher secondary school, who was raped on March 2 recovered consciousness yesterday at the community health centre where she was taken to after being found lying beside the Circuit House, the sources said.

The victim was sent for medical examination.

The IRB constable, Lukbom Yonggam, was arrested yesterday after local people caught him, they said.

The local people gheraoed the police station demanding punishment for the constable.

The police fired in the air after a mob assaulted the constable last evening when he was being taken to the community health centre for medical examination, the sources said.

Army doctors treated the constable at the police station due to security reasons, the sources said.

Local MLA Thangwang Wangham said that the culprit should be dealt with an iron hand and asked the people not to aggravate the situation and let the law take its own course.

Haryana

A 26-year old woman was allegedly raped by a youth inside her house in Haryana's Karnal district, police said.

The woman, in her complaint to police, alleged Kuldeep, a resident of Nagla Farm in Karnal, entered her house, beat her up and raped her.

After registration of a case on the basis of woman's complaint, the police arrested Kuldeep.

He would be produced before a court tomorrow, police said.

5-year-old raped, made to wait five-hours to get into hospital

Jharkhand

A five-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at Kuluptanga bustee in Seraikela-Kharswan district, police said.

The girl was alone at her home when the accused Durga Munda entered the house and committed the crime yesterday. The incident came to light when she narrated it to her mother when she returned home at night, they said.

The police arrested the culprit after an FIR was lodged against the accused with the RIP police station this morning.

The girl was admitted to M G M Hospital for a medical check-up after being referred by Adityapur Primary Health Centre where she was admitted first.

M G M Hospital had first refused to admit her on the plea that the incident had taken place in adjoining Adityapur and was sent back Adityapur.

However, the intervention of a senior district police official made it possible for the girl to get admitted to M G M Hospital at last, sources said.
