Rape Report: Cases From Delhi, MP, Punjab, U'khand

A tribal woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by four men in Barodia village in Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh, police said today.

The accused abducted the 30-year-old woman at around 11 PM yesterday when she was sleeping with her husband, who works as a watchman, they said.

The four men -- identified as Govind Bagri, Suresh Bagri, Lakhan and Suresh -- allegedly raped her at gunpoint in a field in the village.

Based on the woman's complaint, the four have been booked for the offence of rape and under relevant sections of the SC/ST Act, police said.

A search was on to nab the culprits, they added.

Meanwhile, A youth was arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl living in his neighbourhood in Bhopal.

Vipin Mishra, who lived near the house of the 15-year-old victim at police quarters in Jahangirabad locality, took her away on some pretext yesterday and raped her, police said.

The victim's father and that of the accused work in the police department.

On returning home, the girl informed her parents about the incident following which they lodged a complaint with the Jahangirabad police.

Police arrested Vipin and booked him under charges of rape and abduction.

Punjab

A girl, student of class X, was allegedly raped by two persons, both brothers, and later dumped near a colony here from a car having a red beacon atop, in Punjab.

Three persons, including both the brothers, had been arrested and the vehicle, belonging to the power utilities office, seized, SSP R S Brar said.

A case of rape was registered yesterday following a complaint filed by the girl's parents, he said.

The girl had fled from her house after she was scolded by her mother for allegedly stealing a mobile phone of her tutor on February 28.

The girl's parents alleged in the complaint that one Varinderjeet, who was known to the girl, and his brother raped the girl in a house in Birtalab village.

They later left her near MES colony here, according to the complaint.

Gurjeet Singh alias Kala, the driver of the red beacon vehicle, was also arrested, the SSP said.

New Delhi

A young girl was raped allegedly by a 22-year-old tailor in east Delhi.

The incident was reported from Chilla village near Mayur Vihar yesterday and the arrested has been identified as Amjad Khan, who owns a shop in the locality. The victim knew Amjad.

The victim's parents approached police following which a medical examination was conducted at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital which confirmed rape.

The victim told police that she knew Khan for past few months and yesterday, he had asked her to meet him at his shop.

"She told us that she was raped at his his shop. She went home and narrated the incident to her parents who approached us," a senior police official said.

Uttarakhand

A woman from Siwan in Bihar, who had come to the state to attend a marriage function, was allegedly raped by his husband's friend in Udham Singh Nagar.

The accused Hari Shankar was arrested today and was booked for rape, police said.

The victim alleged that on February 27, the accused first met her in a market and then took her to a secluded place where he raped her, police said.

The woman, who had come to attend her sister-in-law's marriage, informed police about the incident after the functions were over.

Victim's medical examination has been conducted and the report is awaited, they added.
