Security personnel today busted a country-made gun factory in Odisha's Malkangiri district and seized explosives from Kandhamal district during separate raids, police said.
The country-made guns were being manufactured by Madhi Unga at Pakurkonda village under Kalimela police station area in Malkangiri district. The guns were being supplied to Maoists, said Kalimela police station inspector-in-charge Surendra Kumar Nayak.
Three country-made new guns, six rounds of cartridges, four kg of explosives and certain amount of gun powder were recovered from Unga's house. Unga fled from the village along with his family members.
A case under the Arms Act had been registered at Kalimela police station.
In another incident, the security personnel recovered 36 high explosives grenades, electric switch board, Maoist dresses and other belongings used by ultras during a raid at Kalingabadi village. No arrests have been made in this connection, Phulbani DSP Gupta Prasad Behera said.
