Sealdah Fire Toll Rises to 20, Probe Report on March 4
Another person died of burn injuries from the February 27 fire at the Surya Sen Market in Sealdah, taking the toll to 20 today.

One person with 80 per cent burns today died in the hospital, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Pallab Kanti Ghosh said.

A case has been filed against four persons with regard to the fire incident, but no arrest has been made so far, Ghosh said.

Fire Services minister Javed Ahmed Khan said that the three-member committee set up to inquire into the fire at the directive of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would submit its report on Monday.

The panel comprised three senior Disaster Management, Fire Services and Civil Defence officials.

Sources said that the report was likely to identify the causes of the fire and suggest recommendations.

Meanwhile, forensic experts visited the site and collected samples for investigation.
