A 50-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by her three nephews and another man in Korba district of Chhattisgarh, police said.

"A case has been registered against four men for allegedly gang-raping the woman in Kodmarra village, under Pasan police station limits," Superintendent of Police P Sundarraj told PTI over phone.

In her complaint, filed yesterday, the woman has accused her nephews and village headman Babla Yadav of raping her on January 24.

Accordingly, she had had an argument with her husband over some issue, following which she went to Babla's house, asking for his intervention.

Babla allegedly asked her to stay back for some time. After some time, her three nephews arrived there, and the four of them raped her, the complaint states.

The report of the medical examination of the woman is awaited. The accused were questioned, but were yet to be arrested.

Udhagamandalam, Tamil Nadu

A mini bus conductor was arrested today at Coonoor, about 17 km from here, on charges of teasing a 10th standard girl for the last one week, police said.

Based on a complaint filed by the girl's father, police arrested the 20-year-old youth. He allegedly made obscene comments and used to call her for an outing in the bus, police said.

He has been remanded in 15 days' custody, police said.

Jajpur, Odisha

A youth was arrested for allegedly raping a class V student in Odisha's Jajpur district, police said.

The accused identified as Sisir Kumar Sabat (24) was held yesterday from Singada-Khandarpur village after the victim's father filed a complaint.

According to the FIR, Sisir had lured the minor girl on the pretext of giving her berry while she was playing on Thursday and allegedly raped her at a lonely place in the village.

After the crime, Sisir had threatened the girl with dire consequence if she disclosed it to anybody.

"The girl's family had initially approached the village committee for justice soon after the incident. As the committee sat over the issue for two days, they lodged a complaint with us," said a senior police officer adding police swung into action and nabbed the culprit.

"We have arrested the accused and conducted medical examination on the victim and the accused at the district head quarters hospital," said P C Pattayat, officer-in-charge of Panikoili police station.

Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh

A woman was allegedly beaten to death after being gang-raped by some men in Sadar area near Bakangha village in the district, police said today.

The body of the unidentified woman, which was hanging from a tree, was spotted by a chowkidar who later informed the police.

A liquor bottle and three glasses were also recovered from the spot, they said, adding that the further probes are on.
