Suryanelli Rape: Kerala CM Rules Out Re-Investigation
Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy today ruled out re-investigation in the Suryanelli rape case that has returned to haunt Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman P J Kurien.

"After fresh revelations, we again got legal opinion. There is no scope for re-investigation," he told reporters at the AICC headquarters here.

The statement assumes significance in the face of demands for prosecution of Kurien after the victim in the case pleaded that he be made an accused in the context of Supreme Court reverting the issue to Kerala High Court.

There have also been demands that Kurien should resign as Deputy Chairman.

Ruling out his resignation, he has been insisting that he is innocent. He met Congress president Sonia Gandhi yesterday and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari to explain his position.

Too many feminist news hoggging the headlines these days.

Possibly as a result of the need for anti male reporting.

The Kerala CM's rejecting the demand of retrial in Suriyanelli rape case, in which Sri.Kurien comes under  the cloud, displays the utter disregard the state administration has for the judiciary. Even as the congress camp is caught between cleft wood, for its unknown stance on the  moral propriety sacrificed  in Kurien's holding  his office, Sri. Chandy's decision may earn the displeasure of the Apex Court. In its  bid to save Kurien from the ignominy,  the congress government in Kerala  tends to bury the rich traditions of democracy. Given the  statements of the sole convict and the victim both accusing Kurien, kept in public domain, the reliability of Chandy's governance will get a beating.. With the renewed focus on the judicial review by the SC, casting  shadow on Sri Kurien,Sri. Chandy's ruling mirrors up to the  unjustified bias. .
