A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Cant area in Bareilly, police said today.

The incident took place in Umaria Saidpur village on January 28 when Mohammad Farooq (21) raped the girl, SSP Satyendra Veer Singh said.

The accused has been arrested yesterday by the police.

In another incident, the police has registered a case against a restaurant owner Rohit and another person for allegedly abducting a 16 year-old girl and clicking her obscene photos at Nawla village in the district yesterday.

The victim girl is missing since January 6. The parents of the girl have lodged a complaint with the Senior Superintendent of Police after Rohit was blackmailing them.

In Dariyabad area near Barabanki, a minor girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour.

The 13-year-old victim was raped by the youth, identified as Vijay Verma when she had gone out of her home in connection with some work yesterday, Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishal Yadav said.

Later, the girl narrated the incident to her father, who informed the police about the same, Yadav said.

The accused has been arrested while the further probes are on, the DSP added.

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh)

A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his minor daughter at their house in a village near Jabalpur, police said.

"The accused identified as Dashailal Uike sexually assaulted his 15-year-old daughter at his house in Badhaiyakhedi village on Monday when she was sleeping alone in her room, while her mother and sister in another room", said Bargi police station in-charge Purshottam Pandey.

Uike was arrested today after the girl and her mother lodged a complaint against him yesterday under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

"Medical examination of the victim confirmed rape", said investigating officer Sushmita Niyogi.

According to the victim, Uike committed the act after threatening to kill her if she resisted his advances.

"Uike initially tried to mislead the police saying he mistook his daughter for his wife as he was under the influence of alcohol", police added.

Himachal Pradesh

A minor deaf and dumb girl was allegedly raped by her father in Gajoh village of Hamirpur district in Himachal Pradesh.

The incident came to light when the mother of the 17-year-old victim complained to police that her husband had raped their daughter on the night of January 25.

Later, the girl complained of stomach pain after which she narrated the entire incident to her mother through sign language, they said.

Lal has been arrested, while the further probes are on, they added.

Kolkata

A college girl was allegedly molested in the city by unidentified youths, police officials said.

The incident occurred near R A Kidwai Road today in the morning. The girl managed to get hold of the youth, but he slipped away.

"The girl caught hold of the youth but he managed to run away. We are looking into the case," said a police official.
