Members of Arunachal Press Club (APC) and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) have asked the state government to come out with a white paper on Tongam Rina shooting incident.
Unidentified gunmen had on July 2012 shot at and critically injured Rina, the Associate Editor of Arunachal Times, when she was entering office.
The APC and APUWJ have set a deadline of one month to the government in this regard.
"There is lot of discrepancy in the press statement issued by SP Capital recently in connection with the Rina shooting incident," both the organisation said in a joint statement here today.
The two press bodies also expressed surprise over , what they described as "stoic silence" maintained by the state government and questioned its seriousness towards solving the case.
The APC and APUWJ also expressed fear that delay in solving the case would give ample time to the perpetrators to tamper with the evidences.
