R.P.N Singh Travels in DTC Buses to Review Security
Union Minister of State for Home R P N Singh travelled in DTC buses at night to check security for common people especially women, in the wake of the brutal gangrape and killing of a 23-year-old girl here last month.

Singh travelled in the buses last night for at least three hours in different routes and reviewed the security being provided along the routes and bus stops.

He also interacted with fellow travellers and listened to their suggestions about improving the bus services as well as security.

Singh also gave instructions to police on a few occasions.

The minister's exercise was part of government's efforts to improve the security in the national capital after the December 16 gangrape of the paramedic student in a moving bus.

Dear Sir,

for the best feedback and understanding he should have travelled incognito!

Seeing a Minister with all his cronies and sidekicks and security personnel - everybody would be at their best behaviour and not like to point out problems in the system/

He also interacted with fellow travellers

Can't see much point in this considering the "fellow travellers" would have consisted of his own security detail. If he really wants to know what people feel, he should ask his wife, Sonia Singh, to return home unescorted in a DTC bus at the end of her shift at NDTV.

Good Move but appers more like a 'Drama' and publicity stunt. This should be done secretly without the knowledge of Staff and fellow Passengers.
