Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today condemned the brutal attack on Indian soldiers near Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir by Pakistani troops.

"It is an unfortunate incident and I condemn it. There is anger among people of the country," Gehlot told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

"At the time when there are talks of improvement in relations between the countries, such unfortunate incident has occurred," he said.

Gehlot after attending the inaugural ceremony of scouts and guides' ranger meet here, said that the state has several steps to check crime against women.

He said DGP of Rajasthan has issued circulars to all the senior officers for taking effective steps to check crimes against women.

When asked about steps to curb corruption, Gehlot said that the government took significant steps for improving transparency in tendering process and ensuring delivery of public services.

On the arrest of IPS officer Rajesh Meena on graft charges, Gehlot said that the government will take action against officers who have disproportionate income.

Meena, who was Ajmer SP, was arrested last week for allegedly extorting money from Station House Officers on a monthly basis.

Gehlot informed that work to prepare detailed report on the metro train project in Jodhpur would be undertaken soon, whereas, first phase of metro in Jaipur, which is scheduled to start from June, will be soon functional.
