UPA Lacks Guts to Stand Up to Rehman Malik: Modi
Narendra Modi today lashed out at the UPA for "lacking the guts" to take on an "authoritative" Pakistani interior minister Rehman Malik for his remarks on Mumbai attacks and Babri demolition.

He also accused Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the Congress of "keeping the country in dark" over Sir Creek issue.

"The Union government in Delhi is so weak that Malik comes to India and states authoritatively that the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack is similar to the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition," Modi said while addressing election rallies on the last day of campaigning for the second phase of polling on December 17.

"The Babri Masjid demolition is an internal matter of India. If the Indian government had guts, it should have asked the visiting delegation from Pakistan to say sorry for the comments," he said.

The visiting Pakistani minister created a flutter yesterday when he equated 26/11 Mumbai attacks to the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya.

Malik today tried to downplay his remarks saying he had not tried to equate the two and that he had no intention to interfere in the inter-faith matter.

On the Sir Creek issue, Modi, who has written to the Prime Minister, said there has been no response from him.

"Neither the Prime Minister has responded to my questions on Sir Creek issue nor has the Congress party....You have kept the people of India in dark on this issue.." Modi said.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Wednesday had dismissed as "untrue" Modi's claim that the Indian government was planning to hand over Sir Creek to Pakistan.

Dismissing Congress' allegation that he has raked up the Sir Creek issue to drive political mileage during Gujarat elections, Modi said, "If the Congress party feels that I have raked up this issue to get more votes, then postpone this elections. Let the polls be held after six months. Elections will come and go. But, I am more concerned about the security of the country".

He attacked Congress president Sonia Gandhi for doubting his "patriotism".

"I am the son of this soil. I was born and grown up here and fought on this soil. I don't require your certificate of nationalism," he said referring to Sonia Gandhi.

Taking a dig at AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi for invoking Mahatma Gandhi during one of his poll rallies in the state recently, Modi reiterated that "I am fully confident that Rahul will fulfil Mahatma Gandhiji's dream of disbanding the Congress after independence".

"My father was not the Prime Minister, he was not even a sarpanch. Still people love me. Rahul baba, if you come for a rally, then do your homework," he said.

#4 - It does not take guts to stand up to Rehman Malik. All it takes is a foul mouth.

>>>

So where is Supreme Leader Rahul Gandhi's Guru - Digvijay Singh? Is he afraid of losing Muslim votes or does he agree with Pakistan's Rehman Mallik that demolition of Babri Musjid is as bad as terrorist attack on 26/11?

Rehman Malik asking India to move beyond 26/11 is like asking victims of violence to move on and not stick to the past.

Maliks answers were typically cold and insensitive to Indian sentiments given the fact that we are yet to see the master minds of 26/11  punished.

Every victim of violence looks forward to getting justice.Makes no sense today

His arrogance exposed. What has he to comment upon babbri masjid? He has audacity to tell let us look beyond 26/11 which means that let us forget about it. This impotent fellow living on the strength of terrorist elements has no guts to acknowledge truth. Day is not far off when an uncontrollable riot will break out causing great harm to the unity of present pakisthan. He will realise the blunder of living on the political charities of these lumpen elements

Shankar,

>> An enemy comes to our soil and talks bad about us and these guys see no fault in it.

Your comprehension problems are huge. It is Modi who talks bad about our government when an enemy is on our soil.
