Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today said there was no clarity in the invitation sent by the Centre for an all-party meeting on the Telangana issue on December 28.
"There is no clarity in the invitation of the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde for the all-party meeting," TRS Politburo member and former MP Boinapalli Vinod Kumar said, addressing a press conference here.
The Minister should have clearly specified the purpose for inviting the political parties, he said.
Kumar, here to attend swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed TRS District Convener Eeda Shankar Reddy, said the instead of two representatives from each of the nine parties in the State, the Centre should have invited one representative to reflect single opinion on the contentious issue.
The Centre's move shows the Congress is not committed about granting statehood to Telangana, the TRS leader said.
He demanded that the Ministers, MPs and MLAs from Telangana declare their "stand" on the statehood issue before the meet.
