15 Houses Gutted in Arunachal Pradesh Since Nov 24
At least 15 houses were reduced to ashes in fire accidents in Arunachal Pradesh districts since Saturday.

Thirteen houses were gutted in a major fire at Siyom Colony at Aalo in West Siang district on Saturday, leading to a huge loss. However, there was no casualty.

The army, air force and police personnel along with fire tenders were pressed into service immediately but it took time to control the devastating fire as the accident site was too narrow for vehicles to enter, official sources said today.

Meanwhile, a residential house of one Poknom Tayeng of Gamgu (Meka) village in Lower Dibang Valley district was completely burnt yesterday.

The cause of the fire which started at around 10:30 am was not known.

At that time, the parents and other adult members of the family had left for their work with only the maid servant at home .

The fire engulfed the entire house within few minutes before the fire brigade arrived and doused it off .

All the belongings in the house including valuable traditional brass plates, swords (Yoksa) and furniture were reduced to ashes.

In another incident at Boum Godown area of Roing Township in the district, a labour camp was completely gutted, the sources added.
