The Uttar Pradesh government is considering an export scheme for potato and cane farmers, state's Textile and Sericulture Industries Minister Shiv Kumar Beria said today.
In this regard, the government is providing hybrid seeds of potato and cane to the farmers, he told reporters here.
The Minister expressed confidence that the producers would get profitable prices for their crop.
Replying to another query, Beria said development of selected Lohia village would start soon.
These villages are to be adopted under the 'Ram Manohar Lohia Samagra Vikas Yojana'.
He said the government is committed to waive off loan up to Rs 50,000 of silk weavers and they would be given fresh loan after depositing margin money.
