Anuradha Roy, Aman Sethi Among Crossword Awardees

The 11th edition of the Economist Crossword Book award were announced today.

The winners are:

Indian Fiction: The Folded Earth by Anuradha Roy

Indian Non-Fiction: A Free Man by Aman Sethi

Indian Language Translation:

  • 17 by Anita Agnihotri, translated by Arunava Sinha
  • Kocharethi: The Araya Woman by Narayan, translated by Catherine Thankamma

Popular: The Incredible Banker by Ravi Subramanian

The Crossword awards for Fiction, Non-Fiction and Translation each carry a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakhs, a trophy and a citation. The Popular Award entitles the winning author to a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh and a certificate.

In the case of a translated book, The Author and The Translator share the prize money equally. In this case, there are two joint winnders.
