Arvind Kejrival's Five Questions For Salman Khurshid

Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust, an NGO run by law minister Salman Khurshid and his wife Louise Khurshid, has been at the centre of many allegations of financial misappropriation and forgery that have been refuted by the law minister and his wife.

Arvind Kejriwal, sitting on a protest at Parliament Street police station, has been demanding Khurshid be arrested for alleged misappropriation of funds from the Ministry of Social Justice by his trust, quoting a CAG report which alleges “misappropriation of a grant of Rs 71.5 lakh, interest of Rs 15.49 lakh thereon and the irregular release of a further grant of Rs 68.25 lakh”.

According to the report, on the basis of recommendations of the Uttar Pradesh government, a grant-in aid of Rs 71.5 lakh was sanctioned to Dr Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust Delhi, as a non-recurring grant in 2009-10 for distributing aid and appliances under a scheme to be implemented in 17 districts across Uttar Pradesh.

Arvind Kejriwal has posed these five questions to Mr Khurshid:

1. Your organisation had presented a letter from the Uttar Pradesh government to the central government which, while calling the work of your organisation satisfactory during 2009-10, recommended releasing further funds for your organisation. This letter bears the signature of Mr Ramraj Singh, the then special secretary to the UP govt. But as per media reports, Mr Ramraj Singh says that these are not his signature. He further says that he retired in January 2011, while this letter is shown to have been written on March 24, 2011. Do you agree that your organisation showed this forged letter to try and obtain a grant next year?

2. Your organisation has presented an affidavit by J.B. Singh, UP government's former CDO, where he is shown to be praising your organisation's work. But Mr J.B. Singh maintains that this affidavit too is forged and he has not given any such affidavit. Do you agree that this affidavit is forged? If yes, then why did you enclose this forged letter?

3. On 12 June 2012, Akhilesh Yadav government wrote a letter to the union government which alleges that a lot of signatures in the reports presented by you to the union government are forged. In your opinion is this letter from the UP government real or forged?

4. Your organisation has claimed that you organised such and such camps for the handicaps in such and such districts and distributed equipment to them. According to an enquirty conducted by Akhilesh Yadav's government neither any such camps were organised on those dates nor any equipment was distributed. Do you agree with the charges levelled in this letter dated June 12, 2012 by the UP government?

5. The handicapped who your organization claims to have given equipment's to say that they did not receive any such things. If these people say these things in public, would you resign from your post in the Union Cabinet?

This seems more like a case of negligence especially by Khurshid's wife. I think they didn't keep a check on proper distribution of stuff.

The IAC has evidently upset the COZZY ARRANGEMENT of politicians- YOU & YOUR FAMILY LOOT, I NO ASK - I & MY FAMILY LOOT, YOU NO ASK evident from the fact that   "SON-IN-LAW  LOOT" was published in 2011 but all politicians opted to be quite till IAC bought it up. Similarly BSP & SP abuse each other in the open but cover up each others LOOT. The BJP leaders likely involvement in IRRIGATION SCAM in Maharashtra was also brought out by IAC and not by the GOVT. ----------------------------------- JAGAN of AP was targeted only because he was upsetting the apple cart of established parties in AP.

Even if the minimum this exercise can get is some sleepless nights out of Khurshid, it should be considered a good start. These corrupt, arrogant Congi ministers thought that they could treat common people, corruption crusaders and civil society like garbage and get away with their loot, lies, and corrupt ways. Imagine the day Khurshid looses to a disabled person whom he incidentally conned, stole money meant for his tricycle or hearing aid.
