2 Minors Raped, Mentally Disabled Assaulted in Haryana
Adding to the rising spurt of crimes against women in Haryana, two minor girls were allegedly raped in Rohtak district while a mentally challenged woman was sexually assaulted in Jind.

A 13-year-old girl was today allegedly raped by her 45-year-old neighbour in Shastri Nagar locality of Rohtak district, about 70 km away from Delhi.

"The incident took place when the girl was alone at her house this afternoon. Her neighbour Prakash allegedly entered the house on some pretext and raped her after finding the girl alone. He fled from the house after committing the crime," said Rajbir Singh, SHO of the city police station.

After the incident, the victim narrated the incident to her parents who later informed the police in this regard. The police later took her to PGIMS for medical examination to confirm the crime, said the SHO.

"The medical test has confirmed the rape with the girl hence we have launched a hunt to nab the accused after registering a case of rape against him. Parents of the victim are engaged with some labour work while the accused Prakash is stated to be a habitual drinker," said Singh.

In a similar incident, a 15-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly lured by three women relatives in Kachchi Garhi Mohalla colony of Rohtak and then raped by a youth last evening, police said.

The girl was called out of her house by the accused women and was taken to an abandoned house in a car on the Hisar road on the outskirts of the village where she was raped.

Police have registered a case against five persons, including the three relatives of the victim and also arrested the key accused.

This incident occurred in Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda's home district Rohtak, where opposition BJP-Haryana Janhit Congress women leaders took out a rally and raised slogans against the Hooda regime for allegedly failing to protect the women of the state.

Meanwhile, a mentally challenged woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in Narwana area Jind district.

The accused has been arrested.

The incidents and ensuing protests compelled the chief minister to issue a statement saying "any culprit, whosoever was involved in such heinous crimes would not be spared at any cost."
