Raja, Kalmadi Made Members of Paliamentary Panels
Former Union Minister A Raja, the main accused in 2G spectrum scam, and Suresh Kalmadi, accused in the Commonwealth Games scam, have been made members of two separate Parliamentary Standing Committees.

Raja, who represents DMK in the Lok Sabha, has been nominated to the Standing Committee on Energy.

Kalmadi, Congress member of the Lok Sabha, has been nominated to the Standing Committee on External Affairs.

The Parliamentary Standing Committees examine the bills and give suggestions to the proposed legislations related to the ministries concerned.

Raja, who was arrested in connection with the 2G scam on February 2 last year, is on bail since May 15 this year.

Kalmadi also spent about nine months in jail before being released on bail on January 19 this year.

DMK MP Kanimozhi, who was also accused in some cases related to the 2G spectrum allocation, has been nominated to the Standing Committee on Home Affairs.

In the reconstitution of various Committees, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi has been made a member of the Standing Committee on Finance headed by BJP leader Yashwant Sinha. Earlier, he was a member of the Committee on HRD.

The reconstitution of the Committees also saw DMK's Tiruchi Siva being made the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Industry, while BSP's Brajesh Pathak has been made the Chairman on the Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare.

BSP leader Dara Singh Chauhan, who chaired the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment, has been shifted to the Committee on Labour. Congress member Hemananda Biswal will be the new Chairman of the Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment.

Independent MP Madhu Koda, who is in Ranhci jail in connection with money laundering cases, has not been made member of any committee.

So much for probity in public life.It is as if scams such as 2G. CWG, Coalgate ,Adarsh etc etc. never happened. Ali Baba and the forty thieves are making merry again. Will this be not noted by fellows with money to put into FDI?.India's image which is that of a banana republic will sink further. Dr MMS and Sonia Gandhi couldn't care less. They will happily go about their job of destruction on India, smirking all the while.Since these are "secular democrats" criticising them is politically incorrect . Less said about their'collision'partners the better as they are all 'secular democrats."

When a convicted Binayak Sen can be made a member of a planning commission committee, why is there surprise on appointment of Raja and Kalmadi?

Or maybe these guys have some secret pictures of MMS pulling an ND Tiwari.

As the much cliched proverb says that politics is the last (and in India, the first) resort of any scoundrel, let the thugs, looers and criminals be the members of all those panels.  Only they belong there.

But the Congress and the govt. should however not claim that it is providing a clean governance for the nation.

That is the real Constitution of India in practice. The law is decidedly an ass here in India. It is only the weak who invoke the laws or talk of human qualities or official integrity. The Rulers don't do that. They are there to "Govern" as a worthy UPA minister has the guts to announce loudly in the context of FDI. The only change is that they are "honest & bold" in calling corruption a "zero loss" phenomenon. When the millionaires rule or govern, this is the democracy, this is the constitution and this is the law. Agitators can go to the court, another arrogant minister had said earlier. They also have arrogated to themselves the power to interpret the judgement of the Supreme Court as they wish. But don't worry India, they are already at work to opt for the less honest to simply decorate the bench, as they have already done successfully about bureaucracy, police, intelligence and other "core" sectors of government since 1980 itself (it was an answer to all those who displayed or claimed their own 'conscience' about the Emergency and blamed Indira Gandhi alone. So on getting elected in 1980, she allowed the dealers in managing the government a freehand to ensure that no such claimants ever entered the portals of the government).
