The Jharkhand assembly was adjourned for the day today after a Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (P) ripped off his shirt amidst din in the House.
The MLA Samresh Singh tore off his shirt over demand for regularising of
para-teachers, returning land acquired from villagers at Nagri situated on the outskirts of Ranchi and setting up a commission for the displaced.
The proceedings became noisy after the House convened at 11:00 am with opposition members trooping to the well and shouting slogans in support of their demands.
The speaker thereafter adjourned the House.
The protests continued even after the house was reconvened at 12:30 pm. The speaker then adjourned the House till tomorrow.
JVM(P) President Babulal Marandi also led protests by party workers over the same demands a few km from the assembly around the same time.
