Woman Running 'Call Girl-Drugs' Racket Nabbed
She taught young students in Punjab once but entered the world of crime - dealing in sex trade, cricket betting and drug peddling - eight years ago following family problems.

50-year-old Vimal Marwah, who left her teacher's job and moved to Delhi after marriage, was arrested along with one of her associates Ajay Kalra (41), a debt-ridden businessman, and her customer Arun Gupta (43) from the capital on Saturday, police said today.

On the day she was arrested, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said she was to fly along with eight girls to Colombo where she had organised a party in a casino. 275 grams of cocaine was recovered from the three besides seven passports, air tickets of Sri Lankan Airlines and two vehicles.

The arrests came following police receiving inputs that Kalra would come to Rajouri Garden to deliver cocaine, he said.

"25 grams of cocaine was recovered from his possession and 100 gms of cocaine was recovered from a bag kept in the vehicle. Subsequently, Marwah was apprehended. From her possession another 75 gms of cocaine concealed in her hand bag was recovered.

"Further investigation led to apprehension of Gupta from whom we recovered another 75 grams of cocaine," Chand said.

During interrogation, he said, Marwah told police that after completing BEd, she taught in a school in Ropar and shifted to Delhi after marriage to a small time businessman.

In 1991, her husband left her and moved to Mumbai. After the death of her father-in-law, she could not earn enough to take care of her family.

"In 2004, she became part of an immoral trafficking racket and started providing call girls. Two years ago, she was arrested but was released and continued her activities," Chand said.

Asked why she entered the world of drug peddling, she said for the past one year she had noticed a trend that her customers were demanding cocaine along with the call girls.

"As a 'package deal' she then started supplying cocaine along with the call girls. She charged Rs 30,000 for a call girl and one gm cocaine. Marwah also ran a betting syndicate involving cricket matches. She is familiar with the top bookies and their contacts in Delhi. Her clients also included bookies," Chand said.

Marwah, who also owns a beauty parlor in West Patel Nagar, had taken a house on rent in Sector 28 of Gurgaon for Rs 20,000 rent. She has five cars.

Her associate Kalra, who hails from Narnaul in Haryana, had shifted to Delhi and started supplying medicines on commission basis.

"For the expansion of his business, he took loan of about Rs two lakh from a bank but suffered huge loss and could not repay the loan. Since 2010, he has been associated with Marwah and became her full-time associate," Chand said.

Gupta, a businessman, allegedly tasted cocaine a year ago and got addicted to it. He came in contact with Marwah and started purchasing cocaine from Marwah and Kalra. Gupta also allegedly betted on cricket matches.

"The seized cocaine was procured form a Nigerian national. He is absconding. Efforts are on to apprehend him," Chand said.
