The city is all set for hosting the 20th CPI(M) Party Congress, to be held from April 4 to 9.
Talking to reporters here today, CPI(M) Kerala unit Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said besides 734 delegates, 70 observers and 11 veteran leaders would participate in the Congress.
There would not be any foreign delegates for the Congress this time, he said.
The march carrying the flag to be hoisted at the party Congress, which began from Valiyachudukad in Alappuzha on March 31, would reach herre on April 3.
On the ongoing strike by newspaper agents in the state, Vijayan said that his party was unnecessarily being criticised for the strike.
The newspaper agents in the state are on a strike since March 20 for fulfilling their various demands including a hike in the commission.
Even distribution of party organ 'Deshabhimani" daily was affected, he said.
