JKCA Scam: PDP Hold Protest Against Abdullah
Demanding action against Union Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah for his involvement in multi crore scam in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), the activists of youth wing of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held a demonstration and also burnt effigy of Dr Abdullah for looting money meant for the development of cricket in the State.

A large numbers of PDP youth wing activists under the leadership of Rajinder Manhas gathered in front of the Exhibition Ground here and held protest demonstration and demanding probe by CBI in multi-crore scam in JKCA.

They started march towards the city but they were prevented by the police to do so. The PDP activists shouted slogans against ruling National Conference for encouraging corruption in the state.

Addressing the party workers, Manhas said that corruption has been legalized in the state because involvement of senior leaders of NC has been established in many corruption cases.

He mentioned that earlier Dr Abdullah’s name was figured in mysterious killing of Haji Mohammad Yosuf but the issue was buried by the state government.

Now involvement of Dr Farooq Abdullah has been established in siphoning off crores of rupees from the JKCA, he said and added “We demand CBI probe into the matter because many big guns have been involved in this scam”.

Manhas further said that instead of properly investigating the case, the government has been looking for some scapegoats.

He said that money was withdrawn from the banks due to directions of the senior JKCA office bearers including Dr Farooq Abdullah and his Political Advisor Mohammad Aslam Goni.

Later PDP activists burnt effigy of State Government and Dr Farooq Abdullah.
