Chidambaram Flags Off Classic Car Parade
Home Minister P Chidambaram today flagged off a classic car parade in which 24 vintage cars, including 1925 built Rolls Royce Boattail Phantom, took part.

Organised by the India Design Forum (IDF), the classic car parade showcased cars of vintage and classic design driven by members of Heritage Motoring Club of India.

The cars include 4 Cylinders Ford Woody (1930), Chevrolet BelAir (1953), BMW Isetta (1962), Jaguar Mark X (1968), Volkswagen Beetle (1982) and Mercedes 180 Pontoon (1957).

In the function, the Home Minister also presented the IDF 2012 Iconic Indian Design of the year award to Udaya Kumar, who designed the Rupee symbol adopted by the Reserve Bank of India.
