Four suspected militants were killed and five others injured when a US drone struck a house in the lawless North Waziristan tribal region in northwest Pakistan, officials said today.
The drone fired two missiles at the house in Mirali, 25 km from Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan Agency, officials were quoted as saying by TV news channels.
Reports said some foreign fighters were among the dead.
The house, located a short distance from the main market in Mirali, was destroyed by the attack.
Militants surrounded the area after the attack and prevented people from approaching the house targeted by the drone.
The US drone campaign has focussed on North Waziristan since last year.
There have been nearly 20 drone strikes since al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed in a unilateral US raid in the garrison city of Abbottabad on May 2.
