Two militants of Zomi Revolutionary Army (ZRA) were killed during a fight with an insurgent outfit, Revolutionary People's Army (RPF), in interior Manipur, police said today.
The two ZRA men were killed in a fierce fight with People's Liberation Army (PLA), armed wing of RPF, at Singtam hill area in Churachandpur district bordering Myanmar yesterday.
The two victims were identified as Thang Nilun (30) and Kangja Mon (22), the police said .
The RPF in a statement said that the ZRA activists were leading a team of security personnel at Singtam area to attack a PLA party yesterday. The statement appealed to the Manipur hill-based ZRA not to collaborate with the security personnel.
Security personnel have suspended operation against ZRA and hill-based several Kuki militant outfits following the signing of an agreement between security forces and these militant outfits some years ago, official sources said.
The RPF statement said in view of the agreement, security personnel were using ZRA to attack the PLA.
