Shimoga,Oct 1 (PTI): The work on the International Standard Cricket Stadium proposed at Navile on 26 acres of land would commence by this month end, Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary and former cricketer Brijesh Patel said today.
Speaking to the press here,he said the process of issue of tenders would be finalised shortly and the first phase of work would begin by this month end.
In the first phase Rs 2.7 crore would be spent, Rs 3.15 crore in the second and in the third and final phase Rs 6.71 crore to complete the stadium, Patel said.
Facilities like swimming pool, cricket training centre and an administrative block would be created, he said.
Shimoga District Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey, state's planning Board Vice-President D H Shankara Murthy and others were present, according to an official release here.
