Coimbatore,Apr 1 (PTI) West Bengal government today offered various concessions and invited the industrialists in this region, to set up industries, particularly in textile sector, in that State.
Concessions and other facilities included uninterrupted power supply, subsidy, necessary land and infrastructure to set up industries and textile parks, West Bengal Industries nd Commerce Minister, Nirupam Sen told reporters in an informal chat here.
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, along with Sen and senior government officials today held discussions with captains of the industry in the region, including Chairman of Southern India Mills' Association (SIMA), president of Coimbatore District Small Industries Association, on the possibility of investment in their State.
The State, being strong in petro-chemical industry, would be a potential location for manufacturing synthetic fibre, Sen said, adding necessary infrastructure would be made available for setting up textile parks.
Based on the inputs presented by the Government, a delegation would soon go to that State and make assessment before deciding on the investment, SIMA sources said.
