Pulling up the cops is not enough. If guilty they should be dismissed and prosecuted.
Surely if the girl was 14 years old, her consent or otherwise is immaterial. The accused is guilty of statutory rape. Only two elements are required to be proved to obtain a guilty verdict:
1. The girl was under 16. 2. The accused had sex with her.
