Just two hunderd or so Ahmedia Muslims in J & K?  Not enough of a vote bank.  Congress will go along with Mufti's request and get a larger share of Sunni votes.  But who knows, this decision could a blessing in disguise for Ahmedia Muslims.  As is, many many more Muslims are being killed by other Muslims.  For common man, a Muslim is a Muslim and killing of an Ahmedia Muslim by a Sunni Muslim, may not register among common non-Muslim public.  On the other hand if the Ahmedia Sect is officially declared non-Muslim, they may get some special protection against Muslim like Hindus, Sikhs or Christians get in a rational world.

I am quite puzzled by those who object to call given by the Grand Mufti.

Since I am not very knowledgeable about Islam, I may be saying something which may be questioned for it's correctness. Still,

For a Muslim acceptance of the Shahada-

"La ilaha il Allah,

Muhammad Rasool Allah"

is absolutely essential.

Any one who deviates from this revokes all rights to call him/her self a Muslim.

Apparently, Mirza Ahmad and Ahmadiyas have specifically  gone against the second line of the Shahada by by claiming to be the promised Mehdi or a Prophet.

Persecution of Ahmadiyas is a power game and Islam should not be made an issue on that subject.

Prevailing order or those in power use excuses of 'ideology' to persecute whosoever they find inconveneint.Some people and some 'ideolgies' happen to offer more opportunities to power crazed.

So lets abolish the silly gfand mufti, demolish all religious places, tax 100% the muslim, hindu christian  faithfull etc and use the money and land from the demolished mosques, temples, churches, gurdwaras etc to build schools that teach science, hospitals that save people through science not prayer and anything that affirms humanity and science.
