we dont need a certificate from the grgrading the Gandhis as the people of India have clipped their wings and cut them to the size though the crony media of the congress is not in a position to accept the realities.

After the elections to the Bihar assembly a few years back it was proved thenthat the Gandhi family really are loosing their sheen and vote catching abilities.If a person like Deve Gowda can become a prime minister of India Rahul then is more worther to become one..But it is not happening and will not happen.

 "Gandhi has barely been heard from since then"

Never heard such words from our free Indian media. They always talk about how he is going to lead us in 2014.

Finally someone showing a mirror to the situation much to the discomfort of Indian media businesses and their political masters.

It is actually a sad commentary that an objective analysis about Gandhi’s and congress would come from Moody.
Indian English media is struck with Modi, Gujarat riots, Ajodhya, and what Katju says! These are nice distractions perpetuated to by media to serve the congress.

If Moody's opinions were reliable, the United States would not be in the intractable recession we are in now.

Congress never had a chance in UP. Looks like Moody doing just cut-and-paste from Indian media. No original analysis.

 Alternate leadership has developed in India, which can outdo the Congress in dishing out "reservations and subsidies" or deliver catchy legislations to confound the voters. Besides, they too control huge funds!

The frustration of Moody's is understandable. This is just an extension of S&P's downgrading of India to Negative. What goes by the name 'reforms' for these western powers is the 'red carpet for FDI' colonisation process. Unfortunately, our mainstream political parties, Congress and the BJP, are keen to push through 'Financial Sector' reforms by throwing open the floodgates to western insurance and banking companies which have already played havoc in the US and European economies.

India luckily escaped the 'sub prime lending' tsunami in 2008, which devasted the US. That resulted in trillions of dollars of US tax payers' money being doled out to financial sector tycoons. We willy nilly stayed away from their influence by providence. At that time, our government patted itself on its back for its sagacity. Now, western business is itching to expand their playfield to include India, the biggest emerging market. The downgrading is just a pressure tactic for us to yield, as if we are on the brink of bankruptsy. The UPA is roping in BJP to support these reforms which are inimical to our interests.

India does need reforms of a different kind:

1. Fiscal reforms to rein in deficits by eliminating tax concessions to corporates which far exceeds the fiscal deficit year after year. This is no secret, as borne by government's published documents.

2. Administrative reforms which would cut down top-heavy bureaucracy and bring in accountability and commitment; remove scope for red-tapism in services to people; put in place systems and processes to plug all pilferages in government's development and delivery systems.

3. Legal and judicial reforms to ensure transparent and speedy, corruption-free justice.

4. Law enforcement reforms that would ensure 'equality before law' a reality for the high and the mighty vis-a-vis the common man. For this, law enforcement and investigating agencies (police, CBI etc.,) shoul be kept away from the influence of the elected representatives, just like judiciary.

5. Electoral reforms which would ensure that only people with blemishless record and reputation get elected to legislatures;

There are many more. India needs these reforms urgently, not the FDI kind. FDI is not a reform but a sellout.
