Strange, India on one hand imports most of its arms and can't even manufacture tanks and trucks and on the other hand launches Agni V ?

Its undoubtedly a giant leap but lot of it is about image building, show case.

Interestingly unlike out hyper excited media China played it down.

 Agni-V is nothing compared to Jericho III prepared by Israel !

Champagne moment. The men and women of DRDO have done the nation proud.

How rificulous we are to celebrate the test firing of a missile with capabilities to reach thousands of miles when we are unable to secure our birders at hundreeds of miles from country's capital and in a country where we have stocks of advanced arms and ammunition enough for not more than two weeks.

Every neigbour surrounding us including Bangladesh and Srilanks are giving a damn to us and we are calling the missiles as deterrents.A rougue sitting in Karachi is dominationg some of the industries,[politicns and policies,armimg and abetting terrorism in India,destroying countrys economy by pushing fake currenncies and we are still talking of good relations with a notorious and un reliable and untrustworthy neigbour.

we are after six decades of Independence are unable to look

5,000 km means it can reach both Beijing and Shanghai. This is truly meaningful deterrence.

They not only make us proud of their wonderful achievements in this field but also take us away from the gloomy world of scam, corruption, inflation, high prices, crime etc.prevailing in our country. they are the real Bharat ratna. The DRDO has done us proud by placing India amongst the elite group of USA, Russia, China & France having indigenous ICBM capabilities-developed entirely through our own R&D efforts. In due course Agni-V after further validations should provide required deterrence to avoid adventurism on our Northern borders. Redeeming features of Agni-V are its three stages with solid propulsion, high accuracy, canisterised road/rail mobile launching platform giving it much flexibility and ease of operation. The 50 ton nuke capable ICBM with multiple independently re-entry vehicles –should be big technological breakthrough -we have always been dreaming of. The success of complex Agni-V mission may now herald an era of greater trust on the indigenous developments and faith in our technology reach. Possibly this is opportune time to taper down ruthlessly import of ordinary defence systems and move fast towards self-reliance regime in conventional weapon systems-which only can win wars. If we could succeed in this great Agni-Pariksha from the Wheeler Island -for sure 155mm gun or 125 FSAPDS projectile need not have been on the urgent import list –if allowed to develop earlier? ''
