The Defence Minister's statement is reassuring. I still think a high level commission should look into our defence preparedness in view of General V K Singh's letter to the PM.

if india is highest spender in arms, people of this country must know what all they bought.

arms dealer mafia must be very active india, they should be dealt appropriately, arms exporting countries like USA and Russia has vested interest in funding these mafia.

nothing much will come out that is another thing as government officials and politicians are part of these mafia. but there must be a start.

Who is telling the truth? If Anthony is right then VK Singh is wrong which I am certain is not the case. Though it is also correct that our army is capable of fighting and fighting well with whatever store is made available to them by babus of MoD. Why no one is asking question to these babus. I also pity our infantry because as can be seen that most of our infantry ammo is being spent on fighting Islamic terrorism when another Islamic army stands against it. It may also be worthwhile if some investigating journalist digs up Henderson Brookes report.

"I can assure you that the country is fully prepared. India is in much more strong position as compared to the past."

Given the track record of this govt and our history since Independence in general, the statement is a joke. After all, even after the debacle of 1962, the country was not prepared for 1971. The country was outgunned by LTTE and we lacked supplies during Kargil. We had to import in a hurry from Israel.

What Anthony is saying is a joke. And I hope proper action is taken before the joke becomes tragic.
