But that we know since ages that a Kafir is not acceptable in a Muslim majority Land .Our Pundits were also given the choice either convert or leave Kashmir leaving your daughters + wives or be ready to be killed .The message was blared from Mosques .

Muslims are doing what they are supposed to do but why Hindus stayed back in Pakistan knowing very well what awaits them ??
Indian Govt should open the doors like Israel and allow mass migration of Christians and Hindus to India. Many like Geelani will also like to avail migration to land of Pures.Give them the pleasure too of migrating to their cherished lands .

Why have Muslims  targeted Kashmiri Brahmans? Do they equally hate dalit, Sikh, Christian? Why do we hear about only Kshamiri pandits alone? The media dominated by Brahmans and their co-travellers shed tears for the Brahmans in total exclusion of all others? Or are they so poisonous to enamour the Muslims to such an extent?  Somebody may please clarify.

That is possible. It is also possible that she is truthful,  is in love and has converted to the faith of her lover. Let us not generalize too much. Such cases happen in India too. Babu Bajrangi's goondas in Gujarat often forcibly kidnapped brides and returned them to their Hindu parents while beating up their Muslim husbands. Some Muslim lovers of Hindu girls were killed.

This is not to deny that the safety and honor of Hindu girls in Sindh is in severe jepardy and the  law and order situation in that province is pathetic for both Hindus and Muslims. But each case of kidnapping or conversion must be judged on its own merits.

This is a case where the truth can not be told or obtained. If the woman says that she had been kidnapped and forced into Islam, then she signs her own death warrant. Her body will never be found. She knows where she stands and that is why she, considering the only other alternative before her,  says now that she changed faith under her own will and pleasure. Even if she sticks to her 'kidnap' complaint and the Court allowed to her to return to her parents, will they accept her after what had happened to her?

This is certainly reasonable. Just like it is possible that the officials in Gujarat who deny that Modi gave any instructions to let the Hindus vent their anger are telling the truth, right.

It may be possible that she gave her testimony freely.

But, did she have any other option incase....

Why is it that a Hindu gurl marrying a Muslim is supported and not vice versa?

All evil culture have vanished or have been decimated. Like Nazism, Communism and so on. I dont think overwhelming majority of people of Islam actually and truely follow the guidelines set in religion. And, now we see a Islamic culture where killings are justified, building faternal line with all means are supported and encouraged, misinformation is hailed as great, killers are praised and so on. Why is murders justified in name of religion? Why are such killings hailed as greatest achievement of Islam? If I compare spread of Islam with Buddhism as an example, Islam florished where Islamic army went. No army accompanied spread of Buddhism. If this continues, Islamic culture will have to go through revolution to save itself from vanishing.

Why do Sub-continent Muslim always try to identify themselves different from Hindus and other people? If you are so similar to Arabs and have their faternal linage, why do they not accord you equal status. Can you marry a Arab women and become citizen of Saudi Arabia? No. Maybe you will be killed. Why do we have culture of killing and forcing others to bowdown creaping into Islamic Culture? Why cant a person be a Human first and Muslim later. I dont think a goat can claim and embrace Islam. You have to be human first otherwise you are no better than a barbarian.

Why do mullas giving seremons are most often showting and full of angry looks when giving any religious seremon? Why cant they have politeness in their words? Why are such seremons always full of justifications? Why cant they accept good part of others like West, India and East Asia? Why is illusion created that Muslims here are more like Arabs and not son of this soil?

Why should one worry about conversion of Hindu women in Pakistan. In India itself when a Hindu woman marries a Muslim, she has to perforce embrace Islam. The list of examples are too long but i like to quote just one or two. When cricketer Nawab of Pataudi married Sharmila Tagore, a grand conversion ceremony was organised in Calcutta. When Gowri married Shah Rukh Khan she had to bring up her children only as Muslims. When Kareena marriesSaif Ali Khan she will become a Begum.Dev Ananda could not marry Suraiya because her grand mother insisted on him becoming a Muslim. In a nutshell a Hindu woman has to embrace Islam when she marries a Muslim. Why make this Pak case so big?

" Forced conversion of Hindus in Pakistan jolts US out of slumber

Congressman Brad Sherman urged him to take action to ensure the return of Rinkel Kumari to her family, pursuant to reports that she had been abducted with the help of a Pakistan People's Party (PPP) lawmaker.--
She was subsequently produced before a civil judge twice, but she was reportedly coerced into claiming that she had converted on her own will, even as her family was denied access to her in kangaroo court proceedings that revealed in video clips to be led by a frenzied mob of zealots, including armed followers of the Pakistani lawmaker. According to Pakistani civil liberties activists in Washington DC, Rinkel was allegedly threatened while in police custody that if she did not change her statement, she and her family would be killed.
Congressman Sherman said in the letter to Zardari, citing the Asian Human Rights commission figure of 20-25 kidnappings and forced conversions of Hindu girls in Sindh every month. ''I urge you to take all necessary steps to bring an end to this practice and other harassment of Hindus in Pakistan.''

Voluntary conversion sounds like an oxymoron to me. Reminds me of the famous dialogue from Godfather: "I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse". The kidnapped woman was given an offer she could not refuse.

Religious conversion is akin to adopting the nationality of a foreign country; the convert remains who he/she is, doesn't matter what the label is.

Ghai,

>> USA Congressman perhaps needs your sympathies more.

You are probably referring to the TOI headline "Forced Conversion of Hindus in Pakistan Jolts US out of Slumber." written by Chidanand Rajghatta. Mr. Rajghatta, the Washington correspondent of the Times of India, habitually makes headlines out of non-news (the Rinkel case is not in any American newspaper), but Pakistanis must be deeply ashamed of forced conversions of Hindu girls to Islam. Indian Muslim leaders must denounce vehemently the ill treatment of Hindus and other minorities in Pakistan. Forcible conversions are against Islam and must be denounced as being barbarian. Inhuman punishments meted out to Christians under Pakistan's draconian blasphemy laws are a matter of shame in this day and age. Indian Muslims have a special responsibility to speak up on this topic.

Narayan,

Conversions in the context of mixed marriages cannot really be called forced. Was Sharmila Tagore's conversion involuntary? Such conversions are not uncommon in India. By the way a woman who has eloped to marry is often described by her parents as being "kidnapped". (In my circle, I have maintained the position that in mixed marriages, each partner should keep his/her faith if he/she so chooses. Sometimes they listen to me, sometimes they don't!).

Minorities being hounded, dehumanized and terrorized is definitely news.  Mr. Rajghatta's TOI story titled "Forced Conversion of Hindus in Pakistan Jolts US out of Slumber" should be judged on the fact that the story has not appeared in any US mainline media, and is based solely on one Congressman commenting on it because he was asked to comment on it! I do think however that this news should have wider international circulation.

That is the prerogative of US media. It doesn't make it non-news for the rest of us.

Here is the link to the article in TOI

articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-03-14/us/31164574_1_hindus-religious-conversion-islamization

It clearly mentions that the Congressman Brad Sherman wrote a sharply worded letter to Zardari on the issue. He also talks about Asian Human Rights Commission figures of 20-25 kidnappings and forced conversions of Hindu girls in Sindh every month.

Apart from mentioning that the case was brought to his notice by Sindhi American political action commitee (which, as the article suggests, reached out to several lawmakers), nowhere does the article suggest that he merely commented on it, and that too, only because he was asked. Instead, it clearly says that he wrote a sharp letter to Zardari.

>> I do think however that this news should have wider international circulation.

Then why is it non-news?

You speak like a maulana! In the Bible Saint Paul says, "“Do not be bound together with unbelievers, for what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?” But we all know Christians who are married to Jews or Hindus.  Muslim/non-Muslim marriages in which neither party converts are admittedly few, but I know such marriages and also know that these couples are living happily ever after.

We're told the girl ran away and converted to another religion. No wait -- she ran away, converted to another religion, has a new name, and is now married -- all in less than 24 hours. Difficult to imagine? How about if I ask you to rewind and hit 'Play' once a day, every day, knowing that with each replay, it is another cherished daughter of a new set of parents who has gone missing? Would you sit there and do nothing? What if I tell you that this isn't at all difficult to imagine for Hindu and Christian families in Pakistan? This tragic story is their story -- the only difference being that it rarely makes news.

www.huffingtonpost.com/suhag-a-shukla-esq/growing-up-hindu-in-pakistan_b_1449374.html

Indeed, increased media attention is a start to increasing public awareness and pressure, but when are freedom-respecting citizens of the world and, especially those in Pakistan, going to step up to the plate and end this terror? How many Rinkels and Rachnas will have to face a life stripped of dignity and freedom of conscience? How many families are going to have to lose their cherished daughters to physical, psychological and religious violence?
