Hindus are like fragile commodity and hence shouldn't expose themselves to the outer world, least they get broken. Their super-sensitivity is harmful for others. Only the other day they created a huge row over a court proceeding in Siberai (Russia) for banning Gita. This book is neither sacred nor divine. It is insane who will believe it so. It advocates division of man based on occupation and justifies discrimination in the Hindus based on caste! But the Government of India threw their entire energy to see that Gita was not banned.

When will Hindus grow up? They have already made themselevs nuisance to others. They better live within the confines of India only and practice their sick rituals and obnoxous customs and worship all types of fictitious and wild gods and goddesses.

Hindus are increasing becoming Muslim in sensitivities. If someone calls my Gods weird, they do not turn weird! It is the commentator which appears stupid in wake of such commnets. I won't feel offended by the crap others throw at my Gods!

As we go into 21 century, we are getting more sensitive with these stupid things.

Yes. But what kind of idiots bring such "weird" religious analogies while analyzing a Hockey game. They should be kicked out, not for being insensitive, but for being stupid and incompetent.

You should leave this land of the weird and savage Hindus and migrate to the Land of the Pure.

Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs have at last found unity and brotherhood. They are united in making fools of themselves in the United States with their religious hypersensitivities.

Had to be, otherwise it would have been too good to be true. First some Christian took offence to an AR Rahman song, then some Muslims to Salman Rushdie visiting a Litfest, then some Sikhs take offence to Jay Leno and now some Hindus in the US to come "Joe Blow", a perefectly ignorable, commentator.

SM Krishna will have his hands full - another day at the Foreign Affairs ministry of the 63 year old Republic of Banisthan and Offendisthan continues. The need for "outsiders" only praising us continues - anything else but praise would be an offence. Weird, I must say - not sure about our gods - we are surely weird.

Some low life NRI Hindus seem to be touchier than folks back home.

Get life jokers.

Gambler,

That is true, and they are also more orthodox. But it's also a country of imagined victimhood and everyone likes to be the victim. Hindus have been relatively late to the party.

Anwaar,

In that competition, Muslims have quite a head start. No one can create a ruckus like them. And variety too: book burning, blowing random statues, putting a price on someone's head..phew!

<< u say so, because truth hurts! Face the truth and do some introspection instead of being critical abt the person. The word Hindu and Hinduism were coined in the 19th century to define people who do not belong to Christian or Jewish or Islamic faiths. It was actually meant to mean people who do not worship one God, but worship several gods.

The pre vedic native Indians (Dravidians/Adivasis) were worshipper of nature including animals. Then came the elite, literate, and powerful Aryan Brahmins, who were a distinct caste. They were able to represent their faith and rituals as that of the entire unlettered masses of other nature worshippers. They took advantage of the nomenclature of Hindu, originally referred by outsiders to the people living in Sindhu valley east of Hindukush mountains. In later days they tried to organise the Non-Brahmins behind them under the false mask of Hindu.

The Brahmins, who avoided any labor intensive work for livelihood, assumed the role of intermediary for lower castes to worship many gods, and kept multiplying the dieties and their rituals with a view to receive more enodwments, by instilling the fear of God, and other nefarious means, and soon it became free for all, giving birth to millions of Gods & Goddesses.

For their own benefit they formed fanatic institutions like RSS and VHP and suppressed the people belonging to other castes and religions in India.

And now when someone makes some comment about Hindu Gods being weird (meaning supernatural, unearthly, uncanny etc., and certainly not in the sense of calling names like monstruous, devilish or zombies ), there's more than 600 comments in TOI decrying it, when the so called Hindus including Brahmins themselves makes fun out of their Gods on a daily basis.

Grow up guy, and get a life.

British P.M. Churchill once commented, Hinduism is a beastly religion, and Hindus are a beastly people. Ibn Batuta, the famous Moroccan traveler of 12th century couldn't believe how 99% of the population prostate and live the life of servitude to 1% cunning Brahmins, who decides everything for the rest. Even Swami Vivekananda acknowledged this as the biggest and longest fraud of all time, in the history of mankind, only to be bought over by rich Hindu Rajas' like Maharaja of Khetri promised to pay maintenance to his family, as long as he propagates the idol worship and the teachings of vedas that preaches Chatur-Varnam the caste system.

The Hindus of the day, irrespective of their education and social standing are still the same; otherwise how the rumour of Ganesha idol seeping milk had spread from a Hindu temple in London in 1998 went viral all over India, and not just BJP & Cong leaders, astute bureaucrats like T.N. Seshan too ran to the nearest temple in half clad lungi!!!
In such mad land, I shudder to think what would happen if one fine morning the high priests of Hindus declare that Kali Mata wants to drink the blood of all non Hindus!!!
