The bill should drop Lokayukta and leave it to the states. While the CBI cannot be put under Lokpal, some compromise should be worked out so that Lokyukta has greater control over investigations. Grownups should be able to resolve differences and make compromises. They should attempt to do it before the budget session starts. This is not the time for blame games and political rhetorics.

Funny. Over the last few days, both the 2G and their lackeys were playing blame game. And now suddenly they (or at least the lackeys) realize that things should have been sorted out before budget session and this is not the time for blame game.

Sir, have you no shame? Ok, so that's rhetorical. We know you don't. But at least be consistent. This is exactly what we were pointing out politely to you and your gamechanging Pappu and Pappu's mother who were blaming BJP.

No other government has shown such perfect capability to jump from one self-created crisis to another self-created crisis. Congress needs to do two things immediately:

a. Have a CMP with its allies with weekly or monthly meetings

b. Completely change the advisory group and sack the non-performing cabinet ministers

MOST politicians want this bill screwed - unlike the women reservation bill, which has support among influential politicians.

They only perform for Sonia Maino. Only persons with self respect will resign, and there's none. Not an Italian dish washer and launderer. Lok-pal became joke pal and now it has become 'Rokh' pal !

Good riddance! This kind of bill had no place in a democracy in first place. It was nothing but a frenzy created by the media consumed by naives and idiots.

It has no public support. Proof? See how often it is brought in the upcoming assembly election.

What ever happenned that Night was a shame on India. These guys are lawmakers.Congress engineered this dam drama to run away from voting.

In the next ellection RJD will disappear from Bihars map for good and Lalu will be confined to his village.

The bill was a sham given the provisions in it and on top off it there were so many amendments which were sought by the BJP and Left.

Here both Left and BJP did play a constructive role, but the Congress was just not willing to see reason. Thus this shame.

Only logical answer is Congress must loose Punjab and Goa for good as it is in UP they are absent.

The Members of the Raj Sabha were discussing the Bill and wanted to sit late. Then why VC abruptly adjourned the House ??
Parnab told ShAnsari that Rajya Sabha can't sit beyond mid night ; Indian Express

Bansal told Sh Ansari per TOI

But that was the wrong advise .Actually the Chair should have taken the advise of the Secretariat instead going by the views of the Ruling Party .

In the past Sc had SC had okayed the extension of the House Session in the past .So why VC adjourned as the debate was going on smoothly even after tearing of the Bill by Rajniti Parshad of Lalu Party ?

"Precedence, SC order allow extension of House session

NEW DELHI: There is precedence as well as a Supreme Court ruling that supports the discretion of a presiding officer to extend the sitting of a House and negate the arguments that led to the abrupt adjournment of the Rajya Sabha on Thursday midnight. "

timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Precedence-SC-order-allow-extension-of-House-session/articleshow/11312036.cms

As TV was blaring that before tearing of the Bill the House had adjourned for 15 minutes. The Ruling Benches were looking dejected with faces pulled down with worry .When the House reassembled the Congress was looking confident .Soon Rajniti Prashad did his great Tearing act which ultimately saved the day for the Congress.

When the calm restored and the debate proceeded smoothly then suddenly VC adjourned the House .

Part 2

"Rajya Sabha can’t sit beyond midnight, Pranab told Ansari

The House could not decide on its own to function beyond midnight, thereby extending the session to December 30.
As advised by Mukherjee, Ansari adjourned the House sine die at midnight.
Leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley was, however, of the view that the House had the power to decide how long it wanted to sit "

Read and judge yourself as to how badly the shaken  Govt was trying to avoid the Vote so as not to have another egg on its face afte rdefeat in LS ??

If this case again goes to SC the Ruling will be similar one as in the past that adjournment was not right as the House had the powers to sit late.

Experts: Ansari could have extended RS sitting

“The House is supreme. When I was the SG, there was one occasion when the House sat till 5 am though it was to get up at midnight. I don’t think there is any provision in the rules that makes it mandatory for President’s approval being sought before a session can be extended,” he said.'
